Holleman. He met death at an unguarded moment, and without a single witness. He lay drowned in the bottom of the creek at Lamar's Mill almost 48 hours before being found. The facts as best we can understand them are as follows: Mr. Holleman went over to Culloden on business Saturday. Returning alone, late in the afternoon, reached Lamar's Mill, three miles from his home, sometime early in the night. At or near the mill, his horse, it is supposed, took fright, ran down the bluff into the creek back of the mill with Mr. Holleman in the buggy. Here the horse managed too free himself from the buggy leaving it and Mr. Holleman buried in the water. The horse came up some time Monday wearing a collar only, which lead to the belief that Mr. Holleman had met with some mishap. A party was sent out in search and about sundown yesterday the startling discovery was made as related above. Mr. Holleman was about 34 years old and leaves a wife and three children. His remains will be interred in the family cemetery near his home today. He is the son of Hon. George T. Holleman and has a large circle of friends with whom the Herald joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
