Humphries [Dec 7, 1878 - Aug 18, 1883] Died in Reynolds, August 18th of congestion, J.D. Hu,pries, aged four years, eight months, and eleven days. This little boy was a child of unusual promise. Although of such tender years, he had learned to love the Sabbath School, and delighted in the beautiful songs he heard while there. During his last illness which lasted but a few days, he sang in sweet chldish accents that beautiful song, "Gathering Home". If time or space would eprmit we could re-count many touching scenes, which occurred during his short journey to the grave, but it would only reopen the painful wound in his distressed mothers's heart, to see them recorded here. We would offer in the way of consolation to his mother, that as she cannot have him come back to her, she can go to him to that bright land beyond the skies, where there is no more sickness, pain or death.
