H. Ivey ______ Mr. W. H. Ivey passed away at the home near Charing Sept. 21. Mr. Ivey had been suffering several months from paralysis but was seriously ill only two weeks. Mr. Ivey was married to Miss Ella Parks June 30, 1891. There was never a couple more devoted than they were. He has always lived near Charing and every one who knew "Mr. Billie" as he was better known, loved him. He was noted for his kindness and loyalty to his friends. Mr. Ivey became a member of the Primitive Baptist church at Mr. Nebo May 12, 1917. On Feb. 6, 1920 he was ordained a deacon of the church. Remains of Mr. Ivey were laid to rest in Bloodworth's cemetery at Charing Sunday morning, Sept. 25, at ten o'clock. Funeral services were conducted by Elder J. F. Knott, of Cordele. Talks were made by Mr. J. T. Garrett and Mr. T. C. Bloodworth. Mr. Ivey is survived by his widow, and nine children: Messrs. F. M. and J. R. Ivey of Charing, E. W. Ivey of Ellaville, Mrs. B. F. Waller and Mrs. Mabel Standridge both of Charing; Mrs. W. F. Standridge, of Culloden; Mrs. T. W. Caldwell and Mrs. J. F. Hammock, both of Butler. One brother, Mr. B. F. Ivey of Oklahoma; on sister Mrs. J. M. Barnes, of Rupert; and 11 grand children.
