Jones, who died at his residence in this place on Monday morning of apoplexy. On Sunday evening previous, Mr. Jones was in his usual health up to about the hour of ten o’clock. He lingered through the night and died about six o’clock a.m. Thus has passed away one of our best and most useful citizens. An honorable, upright and high-toned gentleman. He had hosts of warm true-hearted friends, and so far as we know, had not a single enemy. His family has the sympathy of the entire community in this sad dispensation of Providence. We learn that the deceased will be buried in this town this morning at nine o’clock with Masonic honors, of which fraternity he was an honored member.
