Jones arrived in Butler and were taken to the home of the young man’s father, Mr. F.C. Jones who resides about six miles south of Butler. The funeral and interment took place Wednesday morning at Mt. Pisgah church and cemetery, Rev. John Locke officiating. Mr. Jones, who was only 18 years of age enlisted in the army service in November 1919, at Thomaston and was immediately sent to Camp Upton, N.Y. About two weeks ago he contracted pneumonia which caused his death on February 4th. The body was prepared for burial and Sergeant L.B. Samms detailed to accompany the remains. Sergeant Samms, was very attentive in his service to his unfortunate comrade and exceedingly courteous to the relatives of the deceased and in so doing made many friends on his short visit here. The family have the sympathy of their many friends in this hour of grief and sadness.
