Lail Died in Augusta After Long Illness (Published “The Butler Herald, Thursday, February 15,1962”) Deceased was Veteran of World War II and Active Member of Local VFW Post Mr. James Robert Lail, 40 years of age, died at the Veteran Hospital in Augusta at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Lail had been on the critical list at the hospital for the past several weeks. He was born Jan. 9, 1922, the son of Mrs. Pearl Lail of Butler and the late Mr. Miles Lail. He served in World War II and was an active member of the VFW. Mr. Lail had lived in Butler for the past 22 years and was a carpenter by trade. Funeral plans are incomplete at press time of going to press. Survivors include his mother, his wife, Mrs. Eleene Kirksey Lail, two sons and two daughters, Jimmy, Robert, Faye and Brenda Lail all of Butler.
