Manry On the night of October 10, the angel of death entered the home of Mrs. W.T. Manry, of Americus, and the spirit of the beloved wife and mother was gently borne to her eternal home. Death was such a relief to the tired, although patient sufferer, for Mrs. Manry had not been well for several years. After the death of her eldest daughter last December, she gradually grew worse in spite of all that medical science and loved ones could do. Before her marriage Mrs. Manry was Miss Jeffie Shepherd, youngest daughter of late Pleasant G. and A.E. Shepherd of Taylor County. She was born May 27, 1882 and married Mr. W.T. Manry, of Goggansville, in January 1902. She leaves to mourn her death her devoted husband, three sons, R.J., Dan and Clay; two daughters, Mary and Annie Sue; also six sisters, Mrs. H.V. Shepherd, Mrs. John J. Cheney, Mrs. J.W. Poe, and Mrs. E.L. Oliver all of Macon, Mrs. J.A. Hill, of Waycross, and Mrs. J.E. Flewellyn, of Forsyth, one brother, Mr. L.J. Shepherd, of Hawkinsville, and a large family connection. Early in life she united with the Methodist church, was ever faithful to her Lord and as a wife and she was untiring in her efforts for them. She taught them by her life to love and serve her God. She was buried at Goggansville beside her daughter and two sons that preceded her to “that mansion not made with hands, but life everlasting.” To the devoted husband and precious children, “may you be a united family when you have crossed the bar.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/taylor/obits/m/manry7619ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.2 Kb
