His death was not unexpected and was due to heart trouble. He was a confederate veteran and about 87 years old. His remains were interred at the Prattsburg cemetery Sunday, a large concourse of sorrowing friends attending to pay their last tribute of respect. Mr. Mathews is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Beulah Pickard, and several grandchildren, who deeply mourn their loss. Bereaved ones weep not for the Lord doeth all things well. While his death is our loss ‘tis his eternal gain.
