E. McCrary, died instantly of a heart attack Friday night about 9 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Elbert Posey. Mrs. McCrary had been in declining health for the past few years but there had been no noticeable change in her condition lately. Mrs. McCrary was born in Taylor county the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hortman. She was 70 years of age and lived practically all of her life in this county. She was a member of the Midway Baptist church. Funeral services were held for her at Turner's Chapel church Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. M. T. Gaultney officiated. He was assisted by Rev. M. J. Wood. Pallbearers were Messrs Paul Spillers, Franklin Dickerson, E. E. Hortman, F. E. Posey and Wilburn Hortman. Mrs. McCrary is survived by her husband and four sons, Messrs Alfonso, Arthur Lee, Jack and Rudolph McCrary; and four daughters Mrs. Nora Spillers, Mrs. Cora Spillers, Mrs. Elbert Posey and Mrs. Ella Hortman. Also three brothers Messrs G. H. Hortman, Elias Hortman and Robert Hortman and one sister Mrs. Nancy Dixon.
