Deaths in Taylor County

Butler, Ga., May 6, 1884

Enquirer Sun: Silas Monk, an old and prominent citizen of this county, died 
at the residence of his son, John T. Monk, seven miles north of this place, 
yesterday, 4th instant, after a long and painful illness of liver disease. 
He leaves a widow and three grown sons.

Also died the same day, at his residence in the southwestern part of this 
county, Perry Watson, of paralysis. He had been a resident of this county 
since its formation. He leaves a large family.

Both these gentlemen were past sixty years of age, and besides their 
families have a large circle of friends to mourn their decease.

Transcriber's note: I'm not related to the Monk family and do not have further 
information for them. I found this article while looking for an obituary for 
Perry Watson, my 3rd great-grandfather.
