Montgomery, at the Ricks place, in Panhandle district, Sunday night. Mr. Montgomery was a young man, just 23 years of age, of splendid character and industry who was highly esteemed by all who knew him. After an illness of several days from influenza pneumonia developed which terminated in his death in a very short time despite all that could be done to save him. By his upright living and affable manners he had endeared himself to both old and young who will miss and mourn him. The funeral and interment occurred at the family burying ground in Panhandle Monday attended by a large gathering of sorrowing friends. Besides his parents he is survived by a large number of relatives. The Herald extends its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
