In Memoriam

It is with a sad heart I write in memory of my dear niece, Mrs. Lester Nixon. 
Alma, as she was known to us, and loved by everybody, was born July 16, 1897 and
died Sept. 7, 1929 at the age of 32 years.  It is not for us to know why she was
taken from us at the time it seems she was most needed.  Besides her heartbroken
husband she leaves five little children to mourn her death.  What is home
without mother?  She was such a good wife and mother.  She will always be
missed.  Life to us will never be the same without her; but her kind words and
pleasant smiles will always linger in our memory.  We should not mourn for her
here in this world of sorrow and tears, but live to meet her in a better place,
for we know she is at rest with Jesus.

Tears from my eyes are falling,
Deep sorrow shades my brow; 
Cold in the grave she is sleeping,
For we have no Alma now.

Additional Comments:
Alma Estelle Blair was married to Lester Cleveland Nixon, Sr.  She was the
daughter of John Robert Blair and Clevander Layfield.  

I'm related to both Alma and her husband.  Alma is my first cousin 2x removed
and Lester is my first cousin 3x removed.  Alma was the niece of my
great-grandfather Ed Layfield and Lester was the nephew of my 2nd
great-grandmother Mary Elizabeth Watson Layfield.
