Mr. Purvis had every attention that the best physicians, his family and kind friends could give but the disease which took hold of his system so sternly baffled the skill of all and his decline was so rapid that he passed away almost before his friends were aware of his death. Mr. Purvis was a successful merchant of Howard who had gained great confidence among the people by liberal, honest dealing and who death is a very sad blow to the community. Mr. Purvis was a gentleman of fine physique, quite unassuming in his disposition, about 36 years of age, a son of Mr. Marion Purvis, of this county and leaves a devoted wife, five small children besides a host of friends and relatives to mourn his death. His remains were interred in the cemetery at Howard on Sunday afternoon. The funeral service being conducted by Rev. W.T. England, at which a large concourse of sorrowing friends were present. – The Butler Herald This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
