Willis It is with exceeding regret that we announce the death of Mr. A.J. Willis, which sad event occurred at his home in Minneapolis, Kansas, on Saturday the 24th of Oct., from the effects of pneumonia. Mr. Willis was born at Acworth, Ga., Jan. 25th 1838 but in early manhood moved to Minneapolis where he became successful in business and was one of the largest bankers and landowners of Minneapolis. In the fall of 1888 Mr. Willis married Miss Ella, the accomplished daughter of Mr. (paper blurred) Pierce, of this county. To them were born two or three children who with a devoted wife and many friends are left to mourn their loss. Mr. Willis was a member of the Presbyterian church, a good citizen and a kind and indulgent husband and father. The many friends of Mrs. Willis in this county will regret to learn of her sad bereavement and offer their sympathy.
