Wilson Dead Robert Wilson, as we knew and loved him, died at two o’clock this (Tuesday) afternoon. We unlock our forms to make this brief announcement, which will carry sadness to many hearts. The sympathy of all is extended to the wife, who lost only a week ago their little daughter. Hon. W.B. Wilson, the father, and his family, are also remembered with sympathy. The Butler Herald Tuesday, December 5, 1911 Page Three Card of Thanks Editor, Butler Herald: We hereby desire to express to our many friends in Butler and elsewhere, our heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and help so willingly offered and given to us during the long illness of our son and brother Robert E. Wilson. We do not know how we would have kept our hearts and minds sustained as we did, had we not have had the oft repeated expressions of love and sympathy. Yours in sorrow, W.B. Wilson and family Chas. Salzer and children The Butler Herald Tuesday, December 5, 1911 Page Three Funeral of Mr. R.E. Wilson Wednesday Mr. Robert Wilson, who died last Tuesday and whose death was mentioned in last week’s issue of the Herald, was buried Wednesday afternoon, the funeral service was conducted from the residence, and was appropriately conducted by Rev. J.W. Heard, of Macon, witnessed by a large gathering of friends and loved ones of the town and county. Mr. Wilson had lived in Butler from early childhood, and during his entire life among the people here, his conduct was such as to win and maintain the respect and full confidence of all with whom he came in contact. He and Miss Bertha Salzer were married about two years ago, and to this union one child was born, a sweet little girl, who preceded her father to the Spirit world only a few days. Judge Wilson, the father of Robert, and Miss Bertha, the wife and the entire family of loved ones have the full sympathy of a host of strong friends, who share with them their sorrow. Mr. Wilson was just entering the prime of manhood and would have been 29 years old the 28th of next January, and his business tact had made quite competency of the world’s goods. He had a nice home well furnished, pleasantly located, and it does seem so sad to have to give him up. But not our will, but God’s be done. The Butler Herald Tuesday, December 19, 1911 Page Three Card of Thanks Owing to my deep sorrow that came in double portion recently I have not been able before to thank my friends and neighbors for the many kindnesses shown me during the illness and death of my precious babe and also of my dear husband only a week later. None but me will ever know my appreciations to each of you for all your kindnesses, and I pray that God will reward you for the same. Mrs. Robert E.
