Every attention was rendered her by loving hands and medical aid but death was upon her. She was in her eighty-sixth year, having been born July 31, 1826 in Taylor County. She was married to her late husband, Mr. A.C. Carter Oct. 27, 1842, and had three children born unto them of which two with her husband preceded her to the Great Beyond some years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss: one daughter, Miss Bashie Carter, and a nephew, Mr. Boss Jones, whom she reared from infancy; a large number of grandchildren and other relatives, besides a large number of friends. She was peacefully laid to rest Thursday morning at 10 o’clock in the family burying ground surrounded by a large circle of friends and relatives. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. McMichael.
