The Butler Herald Tuesday, September 10, 1912 Page Two Sad Death of Mr. J.C. Adams Our home and community was thrown into a gloom of sadness on August 31 when the Allwise Father saw fit to take our son and brother Jason Claud. All that loving hands could to was done and the best physicians but all was of no avail. He was a consistent member of the Missionary Church of Columbus where he resided until five months ago. He moved to the country for his health but grew weaker all the time. His wife having preceded him to the grave some six months before. He leaves to deeply mourn his death three little girls, Fannie Mae, Maudie Rae and Susie Juaneta and an aged father and mother, four brothers and three sisters. He was a devoted husband and father and a true Christian. Our home is so lonely now but we ought to be reconciled to God’s will for we know He doeth all things well. We feel assured that he is resting with his blessed Saviour. He was cheerful to the last and said he was ready to go at his Master’s calling. He was born Dec. 15, 1876, died August 31, 1912. A large attendance was at the funeral which was held at Bethlehem church Sunday afternoon Sept. 1., Rev. John Locke preaching the funeral service. His loving sister, Miss Bessie Adams Card of Thanks Through the Herald we wish to extend our most grateful thanks to each and everyone who was so kind to us during the sickness and death of our son and brother. May God’s richest blessings rest upon every one. Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Adams and family Additional Comments: Note - Jason Claud Adams was a brother of my great-grandfather, Ezekiel Boston Adams.
