Death of Miss Kennedy

After a patient illness of several months Miss Rosa Kennedy, age 32 years, died 
at the home of her mother, Mrs. Carrie Kennedy, in Panhandle district on last 
Tuesday.  She was a consistent member of the Crowell Methodist Church and a 
most estimable young lady who will be greatly missed not from the family circle 
alone but throughout the community.  The body was interred Wednesday at the 
Shine’s burial ground.

In Memory of Miss Rosa Kennedy

Miss Rosa Kennedy, daughter of Mrs. Carrie Kennedy, died Sept. 3, 1912 and was 
laid to rest at the Shines’ burial ground.  Rosa joined the Methodist church 
when quite young and until death claimed her, lived a noble Christian life.  
Her daily walk was with God.  She had been a sufferer for several years but 
never murmured or complained, but was patient until the end.

It does seem so hard for one just in the prime of life to die – only 22 years 
of age, but “death loves a shining mark.”  God moves in a mysterious way, his 
wonders to perform.  It is human nature that we should grieve for our loved 
ones but when we feel that they are safe in the arms of Jesus we should rejoice.

Dear mother and sister, do not grieve Rosa’s beautiful hands are beckoning you 
each day to come up higher when no goodbyes are ever said.

Mother what a sweet thought it should be to know your daughter is an angel.  
We, too shall miss her, but God doeth all things well and we must submit to His 
will.
