The participants were Son Lewis and Leonard Scott, the former being shot by the latter. One ball performed the tragic mission. It entered the body of Lewis on the right side, ranged upward, pierced the heart and passed out at the left breast. It is supposed that the Negroes were scraping at the time the trouble between them arose. A warrant charging Scott with murder was issued. The sheriff has thus far made a vain effort to locate Scott.
