J.T. Adams received a message last Friday that his nephew, Dr. W.F. Lloyd, of Dublin, Texas was dead and that his remains would be interred on Saturday. The above is sad news to many people in Taylor county as well as other places throughout the state, as Mr. Lloyd was born and reared near Butler and was living here when he joined the South Georgia Conference in which he remained for several years rising to that eminence in the conference which placed him as a presiding Elder and other appointments of first note. He was transferred to the West Texas Conference to First Street Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He was made president of the Polytechnic College of Fort Worth and received the degree of D.D. He was transferred from there to Walnut Grove Church, Louisville, Ky., at which place the hard strenuous work of his life began to tell upon his nervous system, and with the hope of improvement of his health, his physician so recommending, he was transferred to Virginia, but the change coupled with the best medical aid of the State were futile, as his health continued to decline, so he left Virginia and returned to Texas and located at Dublin where he remained until he was called to his reward abode. It was claimed that he had neuresthenia, but with that claim, it seems that the medical fraternity near clearly understood the case. Dr. Lloyd has two sisters to survive him, Mrs. J.S. Brown, of Howard, and Mrs. Owen Ramsey, of Dixie, Ga. The Herald extends sympathy to the bereaved ones. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
