The death angel saw fit to visit the house of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Lawhorn on Saturday night, Oct. 25, 1913 about 12 o’clock and take their darling little girl, Dica, to that unknown world to us just over the evergreen shore where she can rest with the angels of Heaven forevermore. She was a bright little girl 13 months old and was loved by everybody that knew her, and one that we hated to give up, but we must submit to the will of the Lord for His will must be done, not ours. We know, too, that our loss is Heaven’s gain. We should not want to call her back but should be ready when the time comes for us to depart from this world, then we can go home to that beautiful land and meet that precious little girl and all the rest of our dear loved ones that have gone on before. O, Lord, I pray thee, in my weakness, that thou will visit that home and fill the vacant place of that precious little girl with thy most richest blessings that its father and mother may ever keep striving to live so as to meet their precious little one in that home that thou hast prepared for all that would love Him and obey His commandments. Heal their sad and bereaved hearts, O, God, and ever be with them, guard, guide and lead them in the way that thou would have them go, help them to overcome all of these sorrows and troubles. This little girl was only sick a few days and passed away. The interment occurred at Sand Bethel cemetery, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. W.H. Emerson. It if can be the Lord’s will I expect to meet with her again in that sweet beyond where there will be no more parting, but all will be peace, happiness and love. Written by her loving uncle, A.R.
