Benford, who succumbed to afflictions of several months. She had been confined to her bed for sometime and the untiring efforts of the family, friends and physicians failed to restore her to health. Before her marriage to her bereaved husband in 1885 she was Miss Martha McGill, the daughter of William McGill, of the southern part of the county, who preceded her to the beyond several years ago. She realized her condition and called her youngest daughter to her bedside and told her she was going to die and gave some advice to the girl, saying that she would soon be gone. She leaves to mourn their loss three sisters and one brother in Georgia and if the writer is not mistaken she has two brothers and one sister in Texas; besides her husband, Mr. R.F. Benford, and seven children, namely: W.T. Benford, of Schley County; J.T. Benford, of Macon County; Ira and Riley Benford of this county; Mrs. Hammonds, of Schley County; Mrs. Edmunson and Miss Eva Benford, of this county. Her remains were laid to rest in the Bloodworth cemetery on Tuesday at 1 o’clock p.m., and as Elder Roberts who was expected to conduct the funeral service failed to get there a short service was held by Mr. T.C. Bloodworth who referred to her model life and asked the children to live the life of the deceased as her place was forever vacant. We extend our sympathy to the family. LANK.
