Johnson On Thursday August 15th the death angel visited our home and took our dear loving husband and father home. He had been confined to his bed only a few days but his sufferings were great ‘tho he bore them with patience and fortitude as is only witnessed in a Christian. All that medical aid, a devoted wife, kind friends and relatives could do to alleviate his sufferings were all to no effect. But loved ones we must strive to meet him in yonder world so bright where he will be waiting with that happy band to welcome us home. Mr. Johnson was the son of Mrs. Adline Johnson who passed away four years ago. He was born August 25, 1883 and died August 15, 1913. His age was 30 years, liking 10 days; he was married to Miss Laura Peacock April 22nd, 1897. He leaves to mourn his death a wife and four small children, three boys and a little girl baby who was only four days old when its father died and besides four sisters and one brother, namely: Mrs. S.B. Burke, Mrs. H.P. Bartlett, Mrs. G.W. Harris, of this county, Mrs. J.W. Brewer, of Texas and Mr. W.A. Johnson, also of this county. We would enter the domestic circle only to say that both as a husband and father, he was all that could be desired. The bereaved wife and orphaned children have been called upon to make the greatest of earthly sacrifices and he who inflicted upon them their greatest loss can alone give comfort to their sorrowing hearts, to His mercy we commend them. One bright thought comes to us that our loss has been his gain and that some bright day we will meet him in a lovely home above where there is no pain or parting but all is joy, peace and love. The funeral and interment took place at Bethlehem cemetery Friday at three o’clock. Service was held by Rev. John Locke.
