Williamson Uncle Billie Williamson, as his friends always delighted in calling him, has passed into the Great Beyond. The end came quietly and peacefully about two o’clock Friday afternoon at the home of his nephew, Mr. G.W. Williamson, where he has made his home during the past several years. The cause of Mr. Williamson’s death was from cancer, from which he had been a sufferer for many months. He was 82 years old and made a gallant fight for the beautiful southland, which he loved so devotedly, in the great conflict between the states. Many years ago, Mr. Williamson united with the Missionary Baptist Church, and was a consistent member of the same until the time of his death. He often gave abundant assurance that he had the hope of eternal life. His last days were given to prayer and meditation upon the great things of religion. The remains of Mr. Williamson were laid to rest at Mt. Pisgah Church cemetery Saturday, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. John Lock.
