A Sudden Death

A very sad and sudden death occurred on the streets of Butler near the 
Primitive Baptist church about nine o’clock on Monday morning.  Mrs. Tabitha 
Millirons, a most estimable lady living about one mile east of town, left her 
home alone on Monday morning and came to town to do some trading as was her 
usual custom.  She had passed the church about 50 yards when she suddenly fell 
a corpse across the road.  She was in her usual health when she left home and 
had no dream that death was so near at hand.  Mrs. Millirons died suddenly and 
apparently without pain as there was no sign of any struggle or even the 
slightest move of a muscle, and her death was considered by all to have been 
produced by heart disease.  She was one of the oldest settlers in this 
community, being between sixty and seventy years of age.  She was the mother of 
a large family of children and leaves three sons and two daughters besides 
several grandchildren and many friends to mourn their loss.  She had had many 
trials and afflictions in life, one of the greatest which was the loss of her 
residence and its entire contents by fire a few months ago from the effects of 
which she had not recovered.  In death kind friends administered to her 
necessities and she now has a home not made with hands eternally in the 
heavens.  Her remains will be interred in the family burying ground near her 
home today.
