Halley passed from earth to heaven. She had been in feeble health for several weeks but had only been confined to her bed about three days previous to her death and no one really thought her condition serious until a few hours previous to her death, and all that human skill could devise was done to give relief but of no avail. The cause of her death was thought to have been from an affection of the brain, but the disease baffled the skill of one of the best physicians of this county and at 10 o’clock she sweetly feel asleep in the arms of Jesus. She was in the 15th year of her age, and one of the sweetest and best girls in this community. She was loved by all who knew her and in the school room she was a favorite with her class and playmates, but as a rosebud she is taken from them almost in the bloom of youth, and the news of her death as it went abroad our community was sad and unexpected. She suffered and died as she had lived uncomplaining and we have every assurance that her spirit now rests with God who gave it life. So unexpected was her death that this intelligence will bring sadness to many hearts and to all her relatives we offer our deepest sympathy. The dear one has gone but her lot in heaven with father and mother is far better than it possibly have been in this world. Her remains were interred in the cemetery on Friday evening, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. J.T. Mims, surrounded by a large number of sympathizing relatives and friends.
