She was the kind and affectionate daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Kimble and was married to Mr. James Shrimshire on Sunday the 15th of January by Rev. J.T. Adams, an account of which was given in the Herald, and at which time life to them seemed all of sunshine and happiness, but how sad the picture now – a loved one has gone, a chair is made vacant and many hearts are sad, but He that rules over all knows what is best. She was a member of the Methodist church and tried to live up to the requirements of her church and enjoyed the blessings of her Lord. She leaves a devoted husband, father, mother, brothers and sisters besides many kind friends to mourn their loss. The funeral services were conducted on Wednesday by Rev. J.T. Mims, at which were gathered the largest assemblage of friends and relatives of any funeral service ever held in that section. The husband, parents and loved ones have our sincere sympathy. Additional Comments: Note: Dora was married to James "Jim" Schrimshire, an older half-brother of my great-grandmother, Gussie Schrimshire Adams. I would like to correspond with anyone researching the Schrimshire family. I've found the name Schrimshire spelled many ways but I believe "Schrimshire" to be the correct spelling. I have included this spelling for this obituary instead of the name, Shrimshire, which was used in the article.
