Peed, at 6 o’clock p.m. on Sunday last occurred the death of Mr. Samuel McNair, in the 82nd year of his age. Mr. McNair had been in very feeble health for several years but had only been confined to his bed a few days and as the end of his life grew near he passed quietly and peacefully to rest. He was a quiet, good citizen, a good neighbor and an affectionate father. He leaves two daughters – Mrs. A.B. Peed and Mrs. Persons Williamson, besides several grandchildren and many friends to mourn their loss. His remains were interred in the cemetery at Union on Monday of which church he was a long and consistent member.
