Scott, which occurred at his home a few miles west of Butler early Tuesday morning, after a long illness, but the information was received too late for the western mail, hence it is re-published in this issue that his friends may all know of his death. Mr. Scott was in the 56th year of his age, a quiet but persevering farmer and prepared well for his family. He has just completed the erection of a handsome residence near Scott’s Station but had not moved into it. Mr. Scott leaves a devoted companion, a large family of children besides many friends to mourn their loss. His remains were interred in the family burying ground near his home on Wednesday, the funeral services being conducted by Elder J.G. Murray.
