Eubanks We regret to learn of the death of Mr. Rhett Eubanks, which sad event occurred at his father’s residence in the eastern portion of this county on Wednesday morning the 7th inst., after a short but painful illness. His death was a great shock to his family and friends as he was in his usual health up to a few hours of his death and a gentleman of fine physical manhood. Mr. Eubanks was a son of Mr. Isaac C. Eubanks and was in the 26th year of his age. He was a member of the Methodist church and lived a consistent Christian life. His remains were interred in the cemetery near Crowell’s church, Rev. Jason Shirah conducting the services surrounded by a large number of relatives and friends. The bereaved family have our sympathy. The Butler Herald Tuesday, February 13, 1894 Page Three Panhandle Dots By Joseph L. Bligh The sad death of Rhett Eubanks occurred at the home of his father on the Lockett place last Wednesday morning. He had been suffering the after affects of the lagrippe for some time, and complained of pains in the chest on the morning named and went to bed, asking that the doctor be sent for to relieve him, but before the physicians arrived he had died, of (we suppose) congestion of the lungs. A very large crowd attended the burial services at Crowell, Rev. J. Shirah officiating. He was much beloved by all, being one of a family of model boys, who are noted for their uprightness and their moral and religious disposition. They sympathy of the entire neighborhood goes out to the bereaved family.
