Hartley which sad event took place unexpectedly at Cochran on Thursday night Aug. 30th. Mr. Hartley was reared in Butler but had made Fort Valley his home for the past few years. He was a kind, genial gentleman and made friends wherever he went. He was married a few years ago to Miss Nina Sanford, daughter of Hon. B.W. Sanford and besides an affectionate wife leaves two children and friends and relatives to mourn their loss. His remains were interred at Fort Valley on Saturday.
