In Loving Memory Of Miss Katie Payne

Transcriber’s note: This is a lengthy memorial, below are excerpts derived from
the article:

Katie Payne was born in Schley County in 1888 but moved to Taylor County in
early childhood where she had lived since.  Her health failed several years ago
since which time she has been a very patient sufferer.

She joined the Methodist church in early life and was true to the faith and
lived a true Christian life ever afterward.

To say we loved her only mildly expresses our feelings toward her.  We had been
very closely associated together for the past ten years as mother and daughter
and for several years had been very companionable and our love was bound with
the tie of Christianlove, how I miss her no one knows.

She has gone from us forever but her memory lingers still, so farewell dear
Katie until we meet at Jesus feet.
