B. Ray Dies At Her Rupert Home After Long Illness Mrs. W. B. Ray, about 73 years of age died at her home at Rupert Mon-day night, Oct. 30, following a long illness. She was the former Mrs. Samantha Hill of this county. She was married twice, first to Mr John Oliver, who died in 1892. In 1904 she was married to Mr. W. B. Ray. During her entire life Mrs. Ray was a resident of Rupert community. Funeral services were held at Prosperity Primitive Church of which she was a member. The Rev. W. R. Lawhorn officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery.' Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. G. R. Barnes of Rupert, and one step-daughter, Mrs. A. R. Hambrick, of Ellaville. =============== The Butler Herald Oct 21, 1948 Vol 73, #1 Mr Ray, Taylor County Farmer, Dies Following Lingering Illness Mr W. B. (Will) Ray, a farmer and life-long resident of Taylor county, died Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. Wilbur Brewer where he had made his home since the death of his wife several years ago. He was 77 years of age and had been in declining health for some months. Mr Ray is survived by one daughter Mrs. A. R. Hambrick of Dooly County, and one step0daughter, Mrs. G. R. Barnes of Taylor County. Interment was in Prosperity Church Cemetery Monday afternoon with Re. W. R. Lawhorn conducting the funeral. Pallbearers were Messrs H. T. Giles, J. T. Cooper, J. M. Bone, Frank Calahan, Clyde Youngblood and W. G. Hill. J. W. Edwards II of Edwards Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements. Joan Hill vjbhill@alltel.net
