Saunders Truly death loves a shining mark. When the death angel entered the home of Mr. D.S. Saunders about 1:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon last and bore the spirit of his devoted companion, Mrs. Emma Long Saunders, age 45 years, to its heavenly home, the sad intelligence of her demise cast a shadow of grief over every heart in Reynolds and vicinity. Having been a resident of Reynolds since her marriage to Mr. Saunders nineteen years ago, she was known and loved by both old and young. She possessed a sunny disposition and her inimitable hospitality was graciously dispensed to one and all. Mrs. Saunders was a lovable Christian woman, unassuming, yet making the world better for having lived. She had been an exemplary member of the Methodist church since childhood. She was a sincere loyal friend, a good neighbor, loving wife and as a step-mother many testify that she could not be excelled in her devotion and care of those who honored and loved her as mother. Mrs. Saunders has been in declining health for more than a year and although the best physicians were consulted she grew gradually worse until, in answer to her prayer, death came to relieve her. Surrounded by her loved ones she quietly fell asleep to await the resurrection morn. Funeral services and interment took place Friday at New Hope cemetery, the services being conducted by Revs. J.H. Stanford and J.H. Allen -------------------- Mr. Saunders Thanks Friends Mr. Saunders, the greatly bereaved husband, requests that his sincerest appreciation be extended to his neighbors and many friends for their many acts of kindness and loving sympathy to himself and family during the illness of his wife.
