Scandrett and family have the sympathy of their many friends in these hours of grief and sorrow which have recently befallen them in the death of their son and brother, Mr. Walstein Scandrett, which occurred at Rome, Ga., on January 16th, being a student of the Mt. Berry school near that city. The young man’s death was the result of influenza-pneumonia from which he was ill only one week. Walstein was 16 years old, an intelligent and promising young man. He had more than an ordinary ambition for a good education and had resolved within himself to obtain this by his own efforts, thus had applied for and received admission in the Mt. Berry school which he entered only one week prior to his illness. His remains were shipped here and interred in the family lot at Carsonville. He is survived by his parents together with several brothers and sisters.
