Adams where he was a boarder. Mr. Searcy had been superintending the farming interests of Mrs. Adams this year and made her home his home, where he had the kindest and best treatment at all times, both during illness and while in good health. Mr. Searcy’s health had not been the best for several years, and some months ago submitted to an operation. Notwithstanding this his health continue to fail and for several weeks had been confined to his bed. His continued illness caused him great despondency, and while brooding over his illness took his life. Mr. Searcy was regarded by all who knew him as one of the county’s most cleverest, most energetic and the best young men, and that he should have chosen this means of ending his troubles has greatly saddened hundreds of warm friends. Mr. Searcy was 38 years old, the son of Mr. H.M. Searcy, one of the best citizens of the county, who has the sincere sympathy of his many friends in his deep sorrow. Besides the aged and esteemed father, the deceased is survived by two brothers, Messrs. C.L. and John Searcy both of this county. The remains of Mr. Searcy were interred at Wesley church cemetery Sunday afternoon, the sad funeral service being conducted by Rev. J.H. Allen, of Reynolds.
