Taylor COUNTY GA Scott, Calvin File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Angela Covington http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/taylor/obits/scott.txt Funeral Rites Held Wednesday for Calvin Scott (The Taylor County News and Butler Herald, Friday, November 4,1966) Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. for Calvin Clifton Scott in the Turner’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. A.G. Windham and Rev. Herschel Whitley officiated and internment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Scott died about 7 p.m., Monday in a car-truck collision on Highway 19 north of Butler in Upson County. Born in Taylor County, Aug 21,1933, he was the son of Mrs. Alice Scott Coggins and the late Hubert A. Scott. He had lived here for his entire lifetime and was married to the former Miss Martha Wilson also of this county. He was a member of Turner’s Chapel Freewill Church. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are four children, three daughters and one son, Marsha, Vickie, Cliff and Lisa Scott all of Butler; one sister, Mrs. Herman Wilson of Butler and one half- brother, Morris Melvin of Warner Robins.
