To the Memory of Mrs. Shelley
Mrs. Mary Shelley, daughter of Mrs. Elisha Waters, of Taylor
county, was married to Mr. J.A. Shelley, of Bibb county, GA,
May 29th, 1898 and died at her home in Bibb county Wednesday
Apr 19th after a short but painful illness. The scene at the
grave was one of sadness and sorrow. She and her darling
infant babe were laid to rest in the same grave in presence
of a large circle of friends.

Mrs. Shelley was in the 41st year of her age, a member of the
Primitive Baptist church and from early childhood she was a
pious, christian girl, and as a wife and stepmother she
possessed superior ability. She had many who will learn with
deep regret of her death but their loss is her eternal gain.

NOTES: Elisha Water married Hannah Jane Whittle ("Fanny" in
1858.  They lived in Taylor County and are listed as a family
in the 1880 census.
