News reached here Saturday night of the death of Mr. Aretus Turner and was a source of grief to his many friends and relatives. He was formerly of this county, but a resident of Savannah during the past several years. Broken in health several weeks ago Mr. Turner went to South Carolina hoping that the change might prove beneficial to him, but instead he continued to grow weaker until the end came Saturday. Mr. Turner was 66 years of age and was a man of splendid character. Many whom his life touched in various relationships felt the influence of his noble personality and inspiring demeanor will now mourn the loss of such a friend. His remains were shipped to Butler arriving here Tuesday and were interred in the cemetery at Bethel church Tuesday afternoon. Besides a devoted companion Mr. Turner is survived by four children, one brother, Mr. John Turner, of near Butler; and four sisters: Mrs. W.G. Moulton and Mrs. J.E. Brewer, of Butler; Mrs. R.E. Hill, of Ellaville; and Mrs. L.A. Ham, of Hubb, Miss.
