Uncle Billie was 76 years old the day before he died. He was a Confederate soldier and was in every battle of the civil war but was never wounded. He had been a member of the Missionary Baptist church thirty-five years and lived a Christian life. Uncle had been in our home twenty-three years and we all loved him dearly. He was in feeble health for quite a while but bore his suffering as a “good solider” saying he was only waiting for the Lord’s appointed time. Interment took place at Mt. Pisgah cemetery funeral service being conducted by his pastor, Rev. Matthews of Macon. May we so live that we may meet dear uncle in the land where sad partings are no more.
