Willis, aged 69 years, 5 months and 4 days old. Mrs. Willis was a life-long resident of Taylor County, having been born and reared here and before her marriage was a Miss Bickley. In young womanhood she was married to B.J. Willis, which union was blessed with five children, three of whom have preceded her to the grave. The other two are J.T. Willis of Howard and F.J. Willis of Troy, Ala., with her husband and one step-son,W.H. Willis, several grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters and a host of friends and relatives are left to mourn their loss. At an early age she gave her heart to God and united with the Missionary Baptist church where she remained a faithful and consistent member until God called her home. Owing to her feeble health she had not been able to attend church for several years, but she always expressed a desire to go and spoke very often of the good old days of long ago when she went to church. She was dear lover of home, and always saw that her domestic duties were attended to and everything possible done for the comfort of loved ones. While it is so hard to give her up yet we know that our loss is her eternal gain. For several months she had been in feeble health, both body and mind and we can only look upon death as a release from her sufferings, we feel satisfied she is at rest. She was tenderly laid to rest in Daviston cemetery, Jan. 18, 1918, funeral services being conducted by Rev. M.T. Gaultney, thereto await the resurrection morn. We can only say to the bereaved husband and son at home, “Grieve not for her for she is through with all her suffering and let us all strive to meet her in that Great Beyond.” A Friend File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/taylor/obits/w/willis7016ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
