Stating under oath that he had been a resident of the State of Georgia all of his life and that he was born Feb.14, 1845 Enlisting the 12th day of March 1862 Company A of the 10th Georgia, serving until November of 1862 when discharged. Enlisting in Company D, on the 8th day of April 1864, serving until wounded and captured in December 1864. Witnesses as to service: James White, N.C.Coursey, C.H.Watson,J.E.Crook,J.Giles,J.W.Harp,T.Moffat,J.White M.D. and W.W. Edwards M.D. ================ Application for Pension Due Deceased Soldier (To Be Paid to His Widow or Dependent Children) (Under Act Approved October 9, 1891) STATE OF GEORGIA, TAYLOR COUNTY Personally before me, the Ordinary of said County, comes Mrs. Mary Brewer of said County, who after being duly sworn, on oath says that she is the widow of J.W.Brewer and that said Pensioner was on the Pension roll of Taylor County and was paid a Pension of one hundred ($100.00)Dollars from said County for 1884, and that the said Pensioner died in Taylor County on the 1st day of April, 1925. Applicant further swears that she married the said J.W.Brewer on the 24th day of August,1865 in Taylor County and State of Georgia, and resided with him from the date of marriage to his death as his lawful wife, and is new his dependent widow, and she asks that the Pension so due and unpaid be paid to her. Personally before me comes J.E.Brewer, who on oath says that he knew J.W.Brewer while in life and that he knows Mrs.Mary Brewer, the above applicant; and knows that the said J.W. Brewer and Mrs. Mary Brewer were in due form of law married in the County of Taylor in the State of Georgia on the 24th day of August, 1865 and that they were residing together as husband and wife at the time of his death on the 1st day of April, 1925, and that she is his dependent widow.
