A.H. Royal one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the said County. Margaret Ann Forshee who after being sworn according to law deposes and says that she is the wife of Noah Forshee, deceased, who was a Private in Captain William S. Wallis Company (E) in the Forty fifth Regiment Georgia Volunteers commanded by Col. Thomas Hardaman in the service of the Confederate States in the present war with the United States. Said Noah Forshee was born in the County of Houston June the 24th 1839 entered the service at Butler in the County of Taylor in the State aforesaid on the fourth day of March 1862 and died at Goldsboro in the State of North Carolina on the 18th day of April 1862. Leaving a wife that she makes this deposition for the purpose of obtaining from the Government of the Confederate States whatever may have been due said Noah Forshee at the time of his death for pay or other allowances for his services as a private aforesaid. Sworn to and subscribed before me Wm A.H. Royal, J.P. Margaret Ann Forshee And on the same day and year aforesaid she also appeared before me a Justice of the Peace as aforesaid E.J. Royal who is well known to me and who I hereby certify to be a Woman of veracity and credibility who having been by me duly sworn says on oath that she is well acquainted with Margaret Ann Forshee the Claimant and well knew for twelve years, Noah Forshee the deceased soldier here mentioned and that the statements made under oath by the said Margaret Ann Forshee as to her relationship to the deceased Soldier are true and correct in every particular to the best of her knowledge and belief and that the said E.J. Royal is wholly disinterested. E.J. Royal Sworn to and subscribed before me Wm A.H. Royal, J.P. State of Georgia Taylor County I hereby certify that W. A.H. Royal, before whom the foregoing Affidavits of Margaret Ann Forshee and E.J. Royal appear to have been made, and whose genuine signature is subscribed thereto, was at the time of making the same, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid, duly commissioned and sworn said to all of who official acts, as such, full faith and credit, is, and aright to be given, as well in the Courts of Justice as theresaid. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed the Seal of the Superior Court of the County of Taylor, this 7th day of March, A.D., 1863. James T.
