King, Justice of the Peace, in and for the said County, Abagail Forshe, who, after begin sworn according to Law deposes and says that she is the widow of Elisha Forshe, deceased, who was a Private in Captain Jordan Wilchar's Co. F. in the Twenty-seventh Regiment of Georgia Volunteers, commanded by Col. Levi B. Smith, in the service of the Confederate States, in the present war with the United States: that the said husband, Elisha Forshee, was born in the County of Houston, in said State, on the tenth day of July in the year 1832, entered the service at Griffin County, Spalding, and State, aforesaid, on the ninth day of September, 1861, and was killed in the Battle of Sharpsburg, in the State of Maryland, on or about the seventeenth day of September, 1863. That she makes this deposition for the purpose of obtaining from the Government of the Confederate States whatever may have been due the said Elisha Forshee, at the time of his death for pay, bounty, or other allowances, for his services as private aforesaid. Sir, enclosed I hand you Claim of Elisha Forshee, with Power of Attorney authorizing me to collect said Claims as Atty for his Widow. You will discover the company and Regt to which said Forshee was attached by reference to accompanying papers. Please forward Certificate of said Claim to my address at Butler, Georgia.
