D. He was enlisted 23 months according to his pension application and was discharged in April 1865 due to the surrender of General Lee. His pension # was 27374. The pension application states that he was involved in the battles at Averasboro (sp) and Bentonville, N.C. He was 66 years old when he applied for the pension due to ill health. He lived in Navarro County, TX in the City of Roane. He married Sarah Jane Ruffin 12-27-1868. She was born in Sumpter County, GA. She died 5-27-1918 and he died 5-1-1919. His father's name was John L. Parker and I am trying to find information on him. He was from Taylor County, GA but since he was living in Navarro County, TX he submitted the pension application in Texas.
