He was born June 27th 1817. He died May 13th 1873 Age 56 yrs. 11 mo. 14 dys old. He is buried in Corbitt Cemetery south of Butler - located on a dirt road east of "old Charing-Butler Road". 12th District Lot # 234 NW corner. Sometimes referred to as Col Brewer Cemetery. Septimus served was in Captain Russell's Volunteers Monroe County Georgia Militia during the Indian Wars at age 18, and served as Lieutenant. During the Civil War he was elected Lt. Col Co. F. 27th GA Regt. Colquitt's Brigade and a year later became the Captain. He married Amanda A. Beall on May 3, 1838, either in Jasper County or Monroe County. She was born Dec 29, 1820. Died June 29, 1896. Member of M.E. Church South.
