Additional Comments:
	George Layfield married Winney Martin in Talbot County, Ga. July 16, 
1833.  She was daughter of ? and Frances Martin.

Obituary from THE BUTLER HERALD, September 18, 1888.

	Mr. George Layfield, an aged and highly respected citizen of Taylor, 
died at his home near Howard on Thursday night about 2 o’clock. Mr. Layfield 
had been in bad health for several months past, and his death was not a 
surprise to his many friends. He leaves a large circle of friends and relatives 
to mourn his loss. We with the community at large deeply sympathize with the 
bereaved ones.
