The marriage of Mr. Charles Hugh Neisler to Miss Etta Wallace Miller of Atlanta, on April 15 is a social event of unusual interest to their many friends throughout the Southern states. Mr. Neisler is a descendant of one of Georgia's most distinguished families, a family noted for its culture and prominence in literary fields. Mr. Neisler is a graduate of the State University, and is a wealthy and leading citizen of this town, occupying the office of mayor here. Miss Miller is a young lady of varied accomplishments. Her magnetism and brightness win friends everywhere. Her exquisite bits of verse in the Constitution are read with delight all over the South. Several books of poems from her pen have been successfully launched on the world and warmly received by the reading public. Miss Miller's charities have been felt in many a sad and despondent home of Atlanta. The marriage will be a quiet one, with a few friends and relatives present. The Atlanta Constitution 9 Apr 1902 Neisler-Miller Widespread interest is felt throughout southern literary and social circles over the approaching nuptials of Miss Etta Wallace Miller, of this city, and Mr. Charles Hugh Neisler, of Reynolds, Ga. The ceremony will be performed at the bride's residence on the evening of April 15 next and while only the immediate relatives of the contracting parties will be present the occasion will be one of rare beauty and impressiveness. Miss Miller is the daughter of Mr. James T. Miller, the popular government official, and is widely known throughout this section as an accomplished writer whose exquisite work in the line of poetic composition has been greatly admired by hundreds of readers and pronounced faultless by many competent critics. Her rare personal charms have greatly endeared her to countless friends in Atlanta and her winsome presence will be greatly missed from the circles in which she has been the central figure. Mr. Neisler is one of the most progressive and popular young business men of south Georgia and is identified with many important commercial and industrial interests. At present he occupies the office of mayor and enjoys the esteem and confidence of all classes in the community. Both bride and groom are representatives of fine old southern families. They will be the recipients of many heart congratulations and good wishes from friends all over the south. D., Miss Etta Wallace Miller to Mr. Charles Hugh Neisler, of Reynolds, Ga. Atlanta Constitution 16 Apr 1902 Neisler-Miller Miss Etta Wallace Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Miller, of this city, and Mr. Charles Hugh Neisler, a prominent young business man and mayor of Reynolds, Ga., were married yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence of Mrs. Susan H. Miller, grandmother of the bride, 251 Angier avenue. Rev. W. H. McGlauflin, D. D. officiated. The wedding was a quiet, but beautiful home affair, and was witnessed by relatives and a few friends of the contracting parties. Mr. Miller, the father, and his 8 year old daughter, Ruth, stood up with the bride. Miss Miller is a bright and charming young lady, and possesses wide popularity. She has gained quite a reputation as a writer, having published a book of poems, and has also contributed interesting articles to The Constitution. The groom is well known and popular in his section, and is a young business man of bright prospects. The people of his home town have honored him with the highest office in the municipality, the mayoralty. Hosts of friends wish for Mr. and Mrs. Neisler much success in their wedding life. The Atlanta Constitution 20 Apr 1902 Social Life in Macon . . .Mr. and Mrs. Guerry gave a reception Wednesday night at their home on Fort Hill in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Neisler, of Reynolds. Mrs. Neisler, who was Miss Etta Wallace Miller, had been married to Mr. Neisler Wednesday afternoon at the residence of her grandmother, Mrs. Susan Miller, in Atlanta. She is a most talented young woman and has published a volumne of poems besides doing work for newspapers and popular magazines. She is the daughter of Mr. James H. Miller, of Atlanta, and the granddaughter of General William Wallace, who was attorney general of Tennessee under Andrew Johnson. She has frequently visited here as the guest of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Guerry, and has many friends who sincerely congratulate the man of her choice. Mr. Neisler is a member of a prominent family in southern Georgia and has the admiration and respect of all who knew him. At the reception Wednesday evening the house was beautifully decorated with palms and flowers, an especially pretty effect being given by orange trees in full blossom.
