O.T. Montfort, Rev. W.C. McGill officiating. The house was beautifully adorned with carnations, pot plants and burning tapers. The bride and groom entered the parlor to the strains of Lohengrin’s wedding march, beautifully rendered by Miss Atholine Childs, and stood between pyramids of ferns and cut flowers, there the ceremony was performed and was marked by elegant simplicity and witnessed only by immediate family circles and close friends. Preceding the ceremony, Miss Janie Sealy sang impressively, “O Perfect Love.” The bride was handsomely gowned in a tailored suit of midnight blue, elaborately braided in a thread of gold mingled with gray, with gray boots, hat and gloves to match, and carried an arm bouquet of Bride’s roses. She is one of Butler’s most charming young ladies, and will be greatly missed by hosts of friends. They left immediately on a wedding trip to Chattanooga and will return to Atlanta for Grand Opera. They will make their future home in Talbotton where Mr. Slade is an enterprising young business man. Their many friends wish for them much happiness and success. The out of town guests were: Mrs. Slade, mother of the groom, Mrs. Slade, aunt of the groom, Mrs. Johnson and little Miss Slade, sisters of the groom and a brother, Mr. Lester Slade. Mr. and Mrs. L.F. Montfort, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Neisler, of Reynolds.
