Married

Blasingame – Gray

By Rev. Mr. Allison at the residence of the bride’s parents near Carsonville, 
in this county on Wednesday the 12th inst. at 12 p.m., Dr. W.A. Blasingame to 
Miss Hattie Lou Gray.  Only a few of the intimate friends and relatives of the 
bride and groom were present.  After the marriage a favored few were invited 
into the spacious dining hall, and there before them was spread one of the most 
sumptuous feasts ever seen in this sunny Southland, which was heartily 
enjoyed.  The groom is the eldest son of Hon. Powell Blasinghame, of Crawford 
County, who is one of the leading citizens of his section and one of the first 
families of the State.  He is located in Fort Valley and though quite a young 
gentleman, enjoys a very lucrative practice with a bright and prosperous 
future.  The bride is the second daughter of Mr. James H. Gray, of Carsonville, 
one of the largest and most successful farmers of this section.  At three p.m. 
the happy couple accompanied by a few special friends left for the home of the 
groom’s parents, where a pleasant reception awaited them.  May you walk hand in 
hand through the rugged journey of life, learning to love each other more and 
more, and may your pathway be strewn with fragrant flowers and kindred 
blessings, and when your heads become silvered with the weight of years, may be 
you be able to look back upon October 12th, 1892, with love and tenderness 
without a sigh to have the bosom or a thought of regret for the step taken and 
the union formed on that day.  May your life be one of peace, plenty and 
prosperity and may you so live that when you are called to cross the dark 
turbed waters of the river of death, you may be reunited in that land where 
eternal day excludes the night and pleasures banish pain.
